Corrosion Technician Exam Preparation Course
NACE/AMPP Corrosion Technician (CT) Certification Exam Preparation Course – KSA, GCC, Oman & Africa
Introduction
Corrosion control is a critical discipline across oil & gas, petrochemical, marine, water/wastewater, and infrastructure industries, where uncontrolled corrosion leads to costly asset failures, safety incidents, and environmental risk. This intensive exam-preparation course is designed for technicians and engineers preparing to sit the AMPP (formerly NACE) Corrosion Technician certification exam, one of the most widely recognized credentials for corrosion control professionals worldwide. The program provides a structured, exam-focused review of corrosion theory, cathodic protection, coatings, materials selection, and inspection practices, combined with practice questions, mock exams, and exam-technique coaching. With growing industrial investment and asset integrity requirements across Saudi Arabia, the GCC, Oman, and Africa, certified corrosion technicians are in high demand to support pipeline, plant, and infrastructure integrity programs.
Target Audience
Corrosion technicians and inspectors preparing for AMPP/NACE CT certification
Cathodic protection technicians and field engineers
Coatings and materials inspectors
Maintenance and integrity engineers in oil & gas, petrochemical, and marine sectors
Asset integrity and reliability professionals across KSA, GCC, Oman, and Africa
Professionals seeking to build or formalize a career path in corrosion control and asset integrity
Course Objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
Explain the fundamental principles of corrosion theory and mechanisms
Apply cathodic protection principles for buried and submerged structures
Identify and evaluate protective coatings, linings, and inspection techniques
Understand materials selection and corrosion-resistant alloys
Interpret corrosion monitoring, testing, and inspection data
Apply relevant codes, standards, and safety practices in corrosion control
Confidently sit and pass the AMPP/NACE Corrosion Technician certification exam
Daily Course Outline
Day 1 – Fundamentals of Corrosion Theory Principles of electrochemistry and corrosion mechanisms; types of corrosion (uniform, pitting, galvanic, crevice, stress corrosion cracking); factors influencing corrosion rate; corrosion in different environments (soil, water, atmospheric, marine).
Day 2 – Cathodic Protection Systems Principles of cathodic protection (sacrificial anode and impressed current systems); design basics and system components; testing and monitoring CP systems; criteria for CP effectiveness per industry standards.
Day 3 – Coatings, Linings & Surface Preparation Types and functions of protective coatings and linings; surface preparation standards and methods; coating inspection techniques and instruments; common coating failures and troubleshooting.
Day 4 – Materials Selection & Corrosion Monitoring Corrosion-resistant materials and alloys; corrosion monitoring techniques (coupons, probes, NDT methods); inspection and testing procedures; codes, standards, and safety considerations in corrosion control work.
Day 5 – Intensive Exam Preparation & Mock Testing Comprehensive review of all exam domains; practice questions and timed mock exams covering all topic areas; exam-taking strategies and time-management techniques; weak-area identification and targeted review; final practice exam simulation and Q&A.
Learning Methods
This course uses a focused, exam-oriented approach including:
Instructor-led technical review sessions covering all official exam body of knowledge domains
Practice question banks and timed mock examinations
Group problem-solving and case-based discussion
One-on-one weak-area diagnostic review
Exam-technique coaching (time management, question interpretation, elimination strategies)
Certification
Participants who complete the program will receive a Certificate of Completion issued by SCI Training and Consultation Center FZE. Note: this course is exam-preparation training and does not substitute for or guarantee the official AMPP/NACE certification, which requires separate registration and examination through AMPP/NACE International.
Why This Course Matters for KSA, GCC, Oman & Africa
Asset integrity and corrosion management are top priorities for oil & gas, petrochemical, water, and infrastructure operators across Saudi Arabia, the GCC, Oman, and Africa, where aging assets and harsh environmental conditions accelerate corrosion risk. Saudi Aramco, ADNOC, PDO, and other regional operators increasingly require AMPP/NACE-certified personnel for integrity and inspection roles. This course gives candidates a structured, high-yield path to exam readiness, tailored to the technical and regulatory context of regional industries.
Delivery Options
Available as instructor-led classroom training, in-house corporate training, or live virtual delivery — scheduled to suit professionals across Riyadh, Jeddah, Khobar, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Muscat, and key African industrial hubs.
